SineWave Gravity Bands

SineWave Gravity Bands is a hybrid oscillatory–statistical indicator designed to visualize market rhythm and mean reversion using a gravity-style framework. It combines a detrended sine wave with polynomial Center of Gravity (COG) regression bands, creating a dynamic envelope that adapts to price structure rather than fixed volatility alone.

At its core, price is first detrended and transformed into a smoothed sine wave, highlighting cyclical behavior and phase shifts. This sine wave is then analyzed using a polynomial regression over a configurable lookback period (bars_back), forming a dynamic equilibrium line (gravity center). Around this center, two band systems are plotted:
• SQ Bands (outer bands) based on regression error scaled by kstd
• STD Bands (inner bands) based on statistical standard deviation scaled by kstd_internal

The sine wave is clipped to remain inside these gravity bands, preventing distortion and emphasizing meaningful oscillations near equilibrium.

How to Use

1. Mean Reversion Signals
When the sine wave approaches or touches the upper gravity bands, the market is considered overstretched to the upside. Conversely, touches near the lower bands suggest downside exhaustion. These zones are ideal for counter-trend or pullback strategies.

2. Cycle Timing & Phase Shifts
Zero-line crossings of the sine wave indicate cycle transitions. Crossings near the gravity center often signal early momentum shifts, while crossings near the bands suggest late-stage moves.

3. Trend Context
In strong trends, the sine wave will “hug” one side of the bands. Trading in the direction of this bias improves probability. Avoid fading extremes when the regression slope is steep.

4. Confluence Tool
Best used with higher-timeframe trend filters or price action. Works well on M15–H1 for indices and FX.
